2/24/2014 · the vanilla extract is marinated for 3 months before you use it. That way the vodka gets a deep vanilla flavor. The base of this extract has to contain alcohol. And you choose an alcoholic beverage which has got almost no added flavor. Therefor you choose vodka. If you did’t use alcohol you couldn’t store the vanilla extract .
